Feline FUS Homemade Raw Meat Diet Testimonials
Feline Instincts does not claim that our supplements cure any feline or canine diseases.
The following stories are about nutritionally balanced raw meat diets for cats.
Feline Instincts receives many success stories every week.
We can only post some of them.
Important News
We are appalled at the new and recommenced surgery for FUS " perineal urethrostomy" for male cats! This terrible invasive surgery literally cuts off their penis! When Allopathic vets commercial diets don't work they quickly turn to this expensive and truly invasive surgery. Normally this is just a temp fix to a problem that only needs a raw diet to cure the problem. Many cats have died from it or had to be put down because of the side effects they cause the male cat. PLEASE don't take this way out for your male kitty. There is a better more natural way to help him.
Feline Instincts' kitty "King Ramses" suffered With FUS For FiveYears..
Feline Urological Syndrome (FUS) : There is little doubt that F.U.S. is directly related to a cats' life style and diet. A nutritionally balanced raw diet has been proven over and over to prevent and stop this heart breaking disease.
King Ramses, struggled with FUS (Feline Urological Syndrome) from 1994 to 1998. If anyone has a feline with this problem, they know the tremendous, expense, stress and discomfort that goes with it for both the cat and the caregiver. With complete joy, I can now announce that after feeding ONLY a balanced raw diet to King Ramses since 1998, he has not had any urinary problems what so ever. In addition, his yearly blood work has always been in the good range. Blood work 2008 showed kidney are normal.

Milo's Story:
Milo has been on the raw diet - with your supplements - now for almost 4mos - and he's not had any recurrence of the diarrhea - he's one happy, healthy Ocicat!! He's bright eyed and lots of energy - he loves hunting the occasional moth or bug that happens to get in from outside!!! - knocks it silly until I have a chance to get it - he doesn't eat those though!
Milo….we are soooo glad we picked an ocicat! We traveled with him for a week and he handled it well! No onset of diarrhea!! Yay!!!! I still can’t get over the fact his stools have absolutely NO SMELL!!! Everyone in my family/relatives has cats and I keep telling them. They have a hard time getting over the fact that he’s eating RAW chicken…but when we traveled with them, they saw for themselves….they were impressed to say the least.
They all knew the trouble I had with him – diarrhea, crystals in his urine (poor boy went through a lot), tri-trichamonas, etc. He hasn’t been to the vet in 5mos and shows no sign of having to go! He doesn’t get crystals anymore either. I don’t leave out water for him because he never drinks it….he gets plenty in his food…I add about 3 tablespoons of water to every meal….he likes it that way and he urinates large and approx 5x per day – nothing plugging him up there! It’s just wonderful….I wish I what’ve done this years ago!
Meant to tell you, Milo absolutely LOVES those chicken treats Liv-a-Littles – man o man, he would eat the jar if we let him. He gets one or two every night t and if he doesn’t get it, he sits up so pretty patiently waiting by his dish. When we get out the jar he goes nuts with a big long extended meow! It’s too funny!

"I thank God for Feline Instincts products and especially for Felice. She has been so very helpful and available when I needed her the most. Prior to switching to a raw diet, I had been in and out of the vet for three years. The vet had trouble diagnosing his symptoms and I spent several hundred dollars on x-rays, ultra-sounds, pain meds, specialists, you name it. When I started Bacci on the raw food diet the symptoms ceased. One year later he remians perfectly healthy and maintains his urinary tract and bowel health. "

Pretty as a picture...Belle and Sebastian in Ca.
Sebastian had on going FUS and was ready for the horrible surgery last Monday. He was not eating the Hills diet their vet gave them. We started him on the raw diet with a temporary dose of Cranactin. His urinating is back to normal in just a few days.
They are both eating like little piggy's and walking with their tails high.

Tony has been great ever since he went on this raw diet. He must have doubled his weight, but in a healthy way. The specialist he was going to was skeptical, but our regular vet group entirely agrees with it. Again, thanks so much.

Dear Feline Instincts
Before I turned my beloved kitty onto raw food plus the formula, he
was on his way down.
In a period of less than four months, he had eight surgical procedures
due to blockages in his urinary track. Any one of which could have resulted in a horrible
death. He could not have gone on like that much longer - nor could I.
Since he started on this food, he's not had one episode (knock wood!!)
And we're now talking about four or five years.
May I commend Felice for her care, concern, & continually prompt
responses & deliveries.
I am very grateful.

Hi Felice,
I just wanted to say thanks for all your advice. Gracie is starting on his last week of raw food from my original order, and he LOVES it. I was worried that he wouldn't adapt, but he's adapted so well that he refuses ALL can food now. He's now 25 days since he came off of antibiotics for his third urinary tract problem, and still no problems to report.
Hurray!!!!!!!!

Hi Felice,
I just wanted to let you know that my cat, Nigel, is recovering well from his urinary blockages. It's been four weeks since he blocked and is improving daily. Both cats absolutely LOVE the food I'm making with your supplement. Even the picky one is gobbling it up and asking for more. Thank you so much for your time, your help and your fantastic products. You are a wonderful resource and I look forward to becoming a regular customer.
Best regards,

I have to tell you, Sabrina, our cat that had urinary problems is still doing great on this since (7/2003). One of our others started to exhibit urinary symptoms, I put her on it, and no more. She's healthy and happy as well.
Thank you!

I just wanted to give you an update on how Jackie has been doing on your raw diet since we had gotten off to a rocky start back August.
He is back to LOVING the diet. We have finished off the large jar that you sent us and ordered more today. He begs for his food-he's a real chow hound! He seems to be allergic to beef because when I made the diet with the new jar and beef he still did not tolerate it. If I use chicken he does just fine! He is lean and sassy! Thanks for your raw diet and thanks for working with me on this.
By the way all urinary tract problems that he had been having have completely disappeared!!

I just wanted to write in and give you the story of ‘Simon’ our cat. We had been feeding Simon wellness dry food and occasionally would feed him wellness wet food. Simon is the type of cat that seems to get stressed out easily at times (when we leave the house for a few days, thunderstorms, etc) It has been a particularly hot summer this summer and this may have also been a contributing factor in all of this.
One evening we noticed Simon was obviously not acting like himself, he was huddled in the corner and his eyes were dilated. We noticed him pawing at the litter box quite a bit and straining to urinate. After realizing that he was possibly blocked up we immediately called the vet and they pumped him full of sub q fluids. They said he wasn't blocked up and sent him home. This was on a Saturday evening. Well, they misdiagnosed his blockage and now that he was full of sub q fluids the situation was much worse. We called an emergency vet (due to Saturday evening) and he ended up needing a catheter and the works. The vet bills were over 900$ for all of this and it was very frustrating and stressful to see an animal in this sort of pain.
I had been researching a raw diet for the past few years and was trying to get my girlfriend to switch her cat to a balanced raw diet because I knew deep down that it was the logical way to feed an cat. It often takes someone a situation like the above to realize that maybe it is time for a change or at least be open to the idea of looking at a biologically appropriate diet for their cat.
To make a long story shorter, we switched Simon to a balanced raw diet. After seeing Simon go through what he did and knowing that it could/should have been prevented it just made too much sense to ignore. It was obvious to me that commercial pet food is killing all of our pets, and I still chose to feed wellness because I thought that it was better then most. But in the long run, it’s not good enough and that is what matters. To us owning an animal and not giving it the best just isn’t right. A person wouldn’t (well they shouldn’t) have a child and feed it a mediocre diet would they?
I came across Feline Instincts and Felice while searching for solutions to our problem with Simon. Felice answered all of our questions (for weeks!) and would even email just to check up on Simon. Its not often I meet someone like her, not only does she have a product that makes feeding raw so easy, but she also truly cares about people and animals. It took Simon a few weeks to fully make the switch to raw and I would often email and she would email me back within 20 minutes with my answer or even with reassurance that he was on the right track.
In has been a bit over a month now and Simon is back to normal and I would say even better then normal. Normal on a commercial kibble diet is not normal at all. Normal on a raw food diet is much different. He is much more relaxed now it seems, his coat is beautiful, no shedding. His litter box doesn’t smell AT ALL now. He has more energy and actually plays with us more. He just seems happy. Of course I read about this and how animals act on a raw diet for the past years, but it really is amazing when you see it unfolding right before you.
Felice, thank you for all of your kindness and help and for making a difference in so many peoples/animals lives.

My 8 year old male cat [Gato] eventually developed food allergies after years of eating the commercial cat food (he would get diarrhea), he also started developing FUS. After several very expensive vet visits (which did not solve the problem), I found out about the raw food diet. It was really quite unbelievable, once we started him on a balanced raw meat diet, his diarrhea and FUS completely resolved. All 5 of our cats are on a raw meat food diet and they absolutely love it! I wish I had found out about this sooner.

We
got our cat, Jake, when he was about four weeks old from
a friend's barn. For the first two years of his life
he went from the tiny one-and-a-half-pounder to a whopping
fifteen pounds. He was being fed the best possible organic,
dry, cat food (or so we thought) from our local health
food store and all seemed well.
Three years ago most of the family left for a trip, leaving
the animals home with Dad. We had considered staying
one more day and we're all grateful we didn't! When
we got home we went looking for our pets, but couldn't find
Jake. He was in the basement and one look at him told
us something was terribly wrong. He didn't want to
move and cried when we tried to pick him up. Dad thought
it was the flu, or some such thing. Two of us immediately
took him to the animal emergency hospital, and Jake was
diagnosed with FUD. We had never heard of it!!
We had noticed some strange behavior leading up to his trip
to the hospital. He tried using the kitty box, but
wasn't having much success. He also kept backing into
corners in the house, with his tail straight up the wall.
Stupid us, we didn't think much about it. Looking
back, it was obvious that he was hurting.
At the hospital,
the vet told us that Jake had only a few hours left to live.
He was so stopped up that he had added five pounds to his
weight just in toxic bloating. The vet told us that
he would have to be on a special canned diet (supplied by
the vet) for the rest of his life, and most probably would
have to have surgery to permit him to be able to go to the
potty. We tried the canned food, but it looked gray
and nasty, and Jake wouldn't eat it. Back to the regular
food. Two weeks later he had to go back to the
hospital and Jake went through it again. I was desperate,
so I got online and did a search on FUD and its cause.
That led me to raw meat diets. He LOVED the taste of a raw meat diet and even now
we have to separate him from Lacey or he'll eat hers, too.
Lacey is as sweet as her picture. She was a starving,
terrified little waife when we got her, and look at
her now! Thanks a raw meat diet her weight is perfect
and she's a healthy little angel.
Both cats are at their perfect weight (Lacey needed to gain!)
and are beautiful and healthy.

Hi!
I have a pair of 6 year old Russian Blue litter mates, Helena
and Tobias. Tobias has had numerous episodes with
struvite crystals in his urine. When he starts to
spray in the house, I know he again has another urinary
infection (FUS). He also has had problems with chronic
loose, bloody stools, no matter what kind of food he was
feed. I tried all different brands of dry food and
wet food. Everything gave him diarrhea. I knew
he was miserable and I had to do something, so I decided
to try a raw meat diet. I switched both cats to a raw diet
in just a few days! They both love chicken and turkey recipes I make.
I'll be trying rabbit in my next raw
batch. I have noticed both cats are calmer, peaceful and
less agitated. Tobias has for the first time, normal
stools! I'll never go back to processed cat food and
would recommend a raw meat diet for felines to all serious cat
owners.

We
have 2 kitties - Buster who is in the picture loving his
catnip pillow that your Mom makes and our little girl Samantha
with her pillow. Samantha is the reason we switched to a raw meat diet after she had an operation to remove a bladder
stone due to struvite (crystals), a Holistic vet recommended
a raw meat diet. The rest is history.

I'm writing to thank you for being such a blessing
to this family! I know that you already know some of this
story, but I'm writing for anyone else's benefit who might
read this.
We almost lost our Jake to a build-up of urine crystals,
and if it wasn't for switching him over to a raw meat diet food we might not have him. Even if he was
still with us he would have to be on canned food from the
vet that he hated and would have suffered through major
surgery. As it is, he was horribly obese and is now a perfect
fifteen pounds (big boy!). He (and our finances) escaped
surgery and he LOVES his raw food. Jake wakes us up every morning
like clockwork, crying for his breakfast. We have Lacey
on a raw meat diet too, and she's come up to her proper weight
of six pounds. She loves the raw meat so much that she won't
eat anything but that and greens. I even have my mom giving
it to her cat and, not only is he hale and hearty, but she's
thrilled with a side benefit. Lionel is a gorgeous Abyssinian
and has suffered for several years with very bad mats. Mom's
had to take him to the vet just to get combed! Within a
short time after being on a raw chicken diet , Lionel no longer
has any mat problems. Who would have expected that?!

My precious kitty would not be alive today if
it weren't for the raw chicken meat diet we feed him. my raw meat saved his life after he had a urinary tract
blockage from eating commercial cat food that he was unable
to fully recover from. I now feed both of my cats fresh,
uncooked Sanderson Farms chicken and chicken liver mixed with a balanced supplement and trust that they
will both remain healthy and well for the remainder of their
lives."
"Felice always responds promptly to any questions I
may have about a raw diet. She
really cares about her customers and their pets, and always
offers excellent customer service."

What a raw chicken meat diet has done for my family:
where do I begin???
My kitty companions are brother and sister.
Since very young, they have had terrible urinary tract problems.
The little girl had to take a pill every day and a lot of
the time that didn't even work. They were in so much pain
so often. It broke my heart. The day that I began a raw chicken meat diet,
literally, our lives changed. Naudi's pills were discontinued
immediately and both kitties have been healthy, happy and
vibrant ever since! It is a miracle and blessing.
Sincerely, Lori , CT

Since feeding our cats a raw chicken diet we've noticed that their breath is no
longer stinky. A raw meat diet has also resolved urinary
tract inflammations.

My
cat "Zeke" is 1 year old. At about 8 months old
he contracted a urinary tract infection; 3 times. 3 times
in 2 months! I took him to the veterinarian where he was
treated with antibiotics each time. 3 times was just too
many times to my mind so I started investigating and found out about raw meat diets for cats. Sure enough, he has not had one single infection
since eating a balanced raw meat diet. I truly believe that a conventional
diet of commercial food is most damaging to our pets.
Thank you,

It
really is amazing that a UTI that persisted in my cat Sparrow for nearly 5
months and resisted two different antibiotics, much homeopathy,
and herbal remedies that usually work is gone in less than
a week of eating the a balanced raw meat diet!

Our
cats (a male and a female, brother and sister) are eight
years old and thriving on a raw chicken and turkey diet. They have been overweight most of their lives
but are almost down the appropriate weight suggested by
our vet. The best news is there have been no urinary track
problems for our male cat since beginning a raw meat diet.

Thank
you so much for all your help with getting me on the right
track with a natural, raw meat diet for my cats. A raw meat diet has truly been
a life saver. I wanted to give an update on my success
story that you may share with others if you like. My 7 year old Simba had FLUTD and a chronic bladder
infection for two years. My conventional veterinarian prescribed
Science Diet dry food and many antibiotics for her problems.
I kept taking her on endless trips to the vet for frequent
urinalysis checks and more antibiotics (most of which made
her sick). The vet's answer was that she likely would have
to stay on antibiotics for the rest of her life. I thought
that sounded inherently wrong and harmful. I also noticed
that when feeding Simba and my other two cats the Science
Diet W/D food (for weight control), they all vomited. I
was convinced the food made them sick, but my vet said that
was not possible. As a result, I got on the internet and
found a link to your success story about King Ramses who
had Simba's problem. You were kind enough to walk me through
the steps of switching to a raw food diet and gave me the
name of a good holistic veterinarian to consult. Two weeks
ago, my conventional vet ran a urinalysis and could not
find any bacteria, crystals or blood in Simba's urine!!
He of course was excited that "our antibiotic treatment
plan" had worked. After he finished, I told him that
I had stopped giving Simba the antibiotics and switched
her to a balanced raw meat diet.
He of course then looked at her previous charts to try to
find fault with the new test results. He could not. He reluctantly
admitted whatever I was doing worked and to keep doing it.
An added bonus to Simba's restored health is that all my
cats seem more contented, sleep through the night without
waking us, get along better, don't vomit and shed less. I am truly disgusted
with the commercial pet food industry and vets who push
such supposedly "healthy" foods. In reality, this
is causing our beloved pets to become sick and die before
long their time. I wish every pet owner could become enlightened.
Sincerely,
Erica , TX

I
have a male kitty that had such a bad case of bladder/crystals
that I lost a couch. We tried everything (herbs, acupuncture,
meds, & soft high quality human grade wet food) and
than when we put him on a balanced raw meat diet. Walla, he's all better. After being on this for
now 2.5 months all crystals gone and no more accidents :)
